Thoughts for Food, Desserts and more Desserts
Greetings, I hope you are safe. If you are a student going back to school or if this was your first week of school welcome. Everyone else, hello hello! Welcome back! In this post today I invite you to read through different foods and desserts that I had the pleasure to try for the first time as well as revisit. Be sure to check out any of the locations, and foods if you are interested, curious or just for fun. I will go through Burgers plus fries, pies and cakes.
First things first….

Five Guys in Vancouver, British Columbia is a burger delicacy. On my last Food for Thought blog, I described my first time eating there with my friend Reynaldo. With the coronavirus pandemic, it is encouraged that everyone maintains small groups between about 5 to 10 people. Keeping that in mind, I recently went back to Five Guys on Robson Street by myself in August. I choose to dine-in. I order a regular Cheeseburger with cajun fries and a large drink. Choosing all the toppings or the Five Guys lingo going “All The Way” is just as delicious as putting all the veggies on Subway sandwiches. It is filling and a decision that you will most certainly not regret. A great thing about Five Guys, depending on how much you like fries, they go above and beyond. How? They pack fries in their regular container, along with adding fries that take up the bottom third of the bag. If you compare quality vs quantity you would discover with Five Guys fries the quantity is more than enough and each fry is bathed in cajun spice and honestly for me, that is something that I never knew I wanted to enjoy. If I would rate the burger on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give a score of the Five Guys cheeseburger a 8.6 out of 10. The size is perfect, all the toppings, all the cheese and beef patty assembled beautifully. I would definitely recommend eating here to accommodate your burger and fries cravings. You’ll be filled with good food and a smile on your face.
Just Desserts...

True Confections, Vancouver. Wow! If you stop by and walk in to one of their locations, you are most certainly in for a sweet sweet treat. True confections offer a wide variety of foods, not just cakes, not just pies, they offer coffee, tea, alcohol and so much more. When I had the chance to dine there in August, at Kitsilano, Vancouver, to paint a picture, I felt like those lucky children that were able to walk around in Charlie’s Chocolate Factory. I was amazed by the numerous desserts on display. I was ready to order a small piece of every cake or pie on display. So what I did instead was carefully select pies that I was familiar with and match it up with a cake that I had not tried before. For instance, on one visit I paired a pecan pie, with a banana chocolate chip cake in addition with iced caramel macchiato. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! For those with sweet teeth, True Confections, is the place to be to deeply satisfy all those needs.
